The measurement office carries out checks in the sector of legal metrology. We check that weighing instruments, measuring instruments (such as fuel distributors) and EEC tachograph equipment (which record speed and working times of certain road vehicles) function properly and have not been tampered with.
We also check with jewellery firms to verify the accuracy and authenticity of the titles engraved on wrought precious metals. Finally, we monitors whether products in free circulation around Europe (e.g. toys) comply with safety requirements, as well as consumer and environmental protection.
